Jack Wilshere will resume his battle for fitness next week. The 27-year-old midfield star signed for West Ham on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer.
He described it as a dream move but injuries to both ankles have turned it into a nightmare.
Since August, Wilshere has played only five matches for the Hammers - all in the Premier League - and his career has been severely disrupted by injury at both Arsenal and West Ham.
His ability made him an iconic figure to Arsenal fans and it was hoped he would reach iconic status at the Emirates. Wilshere has also won 34 caps for England - but many feel he should have passed the 50 mark by now but for a career fragmented because of injuries.
